Marion County is seeking a Correctional Officer/Inmate Bus Supervisor. 

This position under general supervision performs a variety of activities pertaining to the County Prison Farm in accordance with established policies, regulations, and procedures.  Performs those prescribed tasks such as guarding and directing inmates, patrolling assigned areas, escorting, preparing reports, inspecting property, preventing disturbances, supervising trustees, maintaining facilities, etc.  This position reports to the Roads and Bridges Supervisor.

 

This position requires a high school education with two to three years of experience at the supervisory/foreman level; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.  Must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license and CDL license. Must be able to attain successful completion of the required training from the Criminal Justice Academy.

Marion County is seeking a Director of Public Works. The Director of Public Works is responsible

for coordinating, directing and supervising the activities of the Marion County Public Works Department.

This person manages and supervises the Public Works Department including Roads and Bridges,

Marion County Prison Camp, and Equipment Maintenance. 

This position reports to the County Administrator.

 

This position requires an Associates degree in Civil Engineering or related with six to nine years of

experience in local government, at least three years of which were management level; or any

equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge,

skills, and abilities. The applicant must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license. The

selected candidate must also submit to a pre-employment drug screening.

Marion County is accepting applications for the positions of part time and full time  PARAMEDICS in the Emergency Medical Services Department.

 

Under limited supervision performs various activities necessary in administering first aid treatment to and transporting sick/injured persons to medical facilities.  Coordinating with other response agencies, exercises responsibility for patients at scene and during transport.  Performs operational duties as maintaining machinery and equipment, completing various forms and documents, general cleaning tasks, etc.  Reports to Director of Emergency Services.

 

Minimum training and experience includes high school diploma, applicants must have a valid SC Paramedic certification or qualify for reciprocity, BLS, ACLS, and PALS, provide certifications and be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.   Must have a valid S. C. driver’s license, have no criminal record, be at least twenty-one years of age and submit to pre-employment drug screening.

Minimum Training and Experience:  High School graduation and certification as an Emergency Medical Technician – Intermediate, with two years of experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provided the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  Must hold required certifications including CPR.  Must have a valid South Carolina Driver’s license and be at least twenty-one years of age.  Must also submit to pre-employment drug screening.
