Marion County is accepting applications for the positions of part time and full time PARAMEDICS in the Emergency Medical Services Department.
Under limited supervision performs various activities necessary in administering first aid treatment to and transporting sick/injured persons to medical facilities. Coordinating with other response agencies, exercises responsibility for patients at scene and during transport. Performs operational duties as maintaining machinery and equipment, completing various forms and documents, general cleaning tasks, etc. Reports to Director of Emergency Services.
Minimum training and experience includes high school diploma, applicants must have a valid SC Paramedic certification or qualify for reciprocity, BLS, ACLS, and PALS, provide certifications and be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Must have a valid S. C. driver’s license, have no criminal record, be at least twenty-one years of age and submit to pre-employment drug screening.

Marion County is accepting applications for the positions of part time and full time EMT I in the Emergency Medical Services Department.
Under general supervision performs an assortment of duties necessary in administering first aid treatment to and transporting sick/injured persons to medical facilities. Operates vehicle, prepares reports, conducts general housekeeping activities etc. Exercises judgment in dealing with patients and in various situations. Strives to ensure prompt response to emergency calls. Works under stressful, high-risk conditions, works on an on call basis. Reports to Director/Paramedic.
Minimum Training and Experience: High School graduation and certification as an Emergency Medical Technician – Intermediate, with two years of experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provided the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must hold required certifications including CPR. Must have a valid South Carolina Driver’s license and be at least twenty-one years of age. Must also submit to pre-employment drug screening.
