Animal/Litter Control Officer

General Statement of Duties

Performs service work in the enforcement of ordinances regulating the keeping of animals with the county and patrol areas of the county for illegal dumping and littering to insure compliance of county ordinances and state laws. Reports to the Patrol Supervisor.


Minimum Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent with successful completion of prescribed course of study at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. Must possess a valid S.C. Driver’s license. Must be able to maintain required level of proficiency in the use of firearms, and evasive action/driving skills. Must be at least 21 years of age and have knowledge of the state laws and county ordinances.

E911 Dispatcher

Department: Central Dispatch

General Statement of Duties

Under occasional supervision, must be mentally and physically capable of receiving calls on 911 and non-emergency lines; obtains, assesses and dispatches information to law enforcement, fire and EMS agencies.  Maintains accurate and up-to-date computer records and logs.  Reports to the shift Corporals and the Communications Supervisor.


Minimum Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma and NCIC and E-911 certification, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

High school education with one to two years of experience as as truck driver or a closely related position operating medium duty motor equipment; or equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid South Carolina CDL driver’s license.

Part Time Paramedic

Department: Emergency Medical Services

General Statement of Duties

Under limited supervision performs various activities necessary in administering first aid to and transporting sick/injured persons to medical facilities. Coordinating with other response agencies, exercises responsibility for patients at scene and during transport. Performs operational duties as maintaining machinery and equipment, completing various forms and documents, general cleaning task, etc. Reports to Director of Emergency Services.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum training and experience includes high school diploma, applicants must have a valid SC Paramedic certification or qualify for recipocity, BLS, ACLS, and PALS, provide certifications and be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Must have a valid S.C. driver’s license, have no criminal record, be at least twenty-one years of age and submit to pre-employment.
